Questions for Your Doctor

Preparing questions in advance can help patients to have more meaningful discussions with their physicians regarding their conditions. Patients may wish to ask their doctor the following questions related to women and medical care:

.What is your experience in treating women?
.Do you keep up-to-date in women’s health issues?
.How do you treat male and female patients with my condition?
.How will being female affect my diagnostic testing?
.How will my treatments differ because I am a woman?
.Are there any treatments I cannot use because I am female? If so, which ones?
.What medications should I avoid as a woman?
.Do you feel I should see another physician for my condition?
.How common is my condition in women?
.How does being female affect my prognosis?
